🎓 EMMIE DEEBO SCHOLARSHIP FUND

1. Eligibility
• Open to all Malawian nationals enrolled in a recognized secondary school or university within Malawi.
• There is no gender preference.
• Applicants must demonstrate genuine financial need and academic commitment.

2. Application Requirements
Applicants must:
• Fully complete the official application form.
• Submit the following mandatory documents:
o A copy of National ID or Birth Certificate
o A recent passport-size photo
o A letter of recommendation from a teacher, religious, or community leader
o Proof of enrollment (admission letter, student ID, or current academic report)

• Submit the application by 15th August 2025.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

3. Scholarship Nature and Coverage
• This is a one-time scholarship for the 2025 academic year.
• While it is once-off, the goal is to make it an annual initiative, depending on funds raised.
• Awards may either be:
o A full scholarship or
o A partial scholarship, depending on need and available funding.
• Scholarship amounts range:
1.⁠ ⁠K30,000 to K150,000 for secondary school students fees
2.⁠ ⁠⁠K70,000 to K150,000 for student accomodation 
3.⁠ ⁠⁠K100,000 to K350,000 for college/university students tuition

NOTE: Preference will be given to those who provide institutional Account details.

4. What the Scholarship Can Cover
• Tuition or semester fees paid directly to the school or university
• Accommodation support for students who live in rented housing:
o Funds will be paid directly to the landlord, not to the applicant.
o Proof of tenancy or valid rental agreement must be submitted as evidence.
o A receipt or signed letter from the landlord confirming rent details may also be required.

5. Selection Criteria
• Clear demonstration of financial need
• Quality of the motivation statement
• Academic performance or potential
• Adherence to all application instructions

6. Recipient Responsibilities
• Maintain academic attendance and satisfactory progress.
• Provide updates or reports if requested by the scholarship committee.
• Cooperate in transparency or public awareness initiatives.

7. Use of Name, Photo & Story
• If selected, applicants agree to the use of their:
o Name
o Photo
o Academic progress/testimonial
by the Emmie Deebo Scholarship Fund for:
o Public announcements
o Social media and website content
o Media, annual reports, and fundraising efforts
• No compensation will be provided for this use.

8. Data Protection
• All application information will be treated as confidential.
• Personal data will be used solely for evaluation, verification, and administrationpurposes.

9. Communication
• Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
• All communication will be through the phone number and/or email provided in the application form.

10. Final Decision
• All decisions made by the Emmie Deebo Scholarship Fund committee are final.
• The committee reserves the right to withhold or revoke an award in the case of false information, misconduct, or breach of terms.
